Moonlit Dream Poetry

The Shadows
Do not fear the shadows
but dance with them each night
give them dearling, dreary names
and call them to the light

Then banish Fear and Grimly Bent
and Sadly Lurking too
and you will find yourself alone
as many others do

But I embrace the Shadows
and hug them tightly, dip!
for they are friends, each part of me
just ghostly passings ships

I am not fay, yet softly sing
to ears beyond the veil
lyrics rise and fall like early Spring
melodic water falls

I a poet, he a dream,
a whisp, a vapour trail
I a ghostly nuance too
Lost in a gauzy tail

The moon leans out from cloudy cloth
and brightly lights the dark
the shadows lean against the wall
whilst she reveals the stark

She casts her light among the gloom
and cause them to fade
I shyly draw the draperies in
and draw them from the shade

Dance with me old long lost souls
spin me round and round
in heaps of lace and pale chilled skin
at morning I am found

I dream with eyelids tightly closed
against the Sun's embrace
and move so softly, hiding him
the shadow near my face
